Although Saudi Arabia qualified for World Cups many times, nonappearances in 2010 & 2014 made their fans worried for their seat in the 2018 World Cup.

Presently, Australian coach but at the time of qualifiers but Bert Van Marwijk was the coach of Saudi Arabia &  he led them through to Finals.

Victory against Japan moved the Green Falcons above Australia on goal difference. There was some chaos on the matter of coach as Bert Van Marwijk left them & Juan Antonio Pizzi got the chance to coach them.

Saudi Arabia v Thailand

The first match against Thailand in Saudi Arabia was ending in frustration until Nawaf Al Abed capitalized the penalty and scored a goal just six minutes before the end.

Saudi Arabia v Iraq

Nawaf Al Abed, midfielder, scored two consecutive goals in last ten minutes which led them to a 2-1 victory against Iraq. Literally, this man grabbed the match from Iraq out of nowhere.

Saudi Arabia v Australia

Similarly, 11 minutes were remaining & Saudi’s were trailing at home against Australia. Nasser Al Shamrani scored a goal which levels the game & they earned a vital point.

Saudi Arabia v Japan

Japan defeated Saudi Arabia in a match contested in 2016. Next, in 2017 Saudi’s successfully defeated them when winger Fahad Al Muwallad scored a goal which led them to a victory.

Coach Issue

Saudi Arabia cemented their place in Fifa World Cup 2018, just after few days Van Marwijk’s left & Edgardo Bauza replaced him. Then only after five games, a newly appointed coach was sacked from his position. The panic created in Saudi Arabia national team & management. But Juan Antonio Pizzi decided to coach Saudi Arabia, and at present, he is serving as national team coach.

The Coach

Juan Antonio Pizzi was born on 7th June 1968. Presently, he is the coach of a national team of Saudi Arabia. He is the one who led Chile to the title of Copa America Centenario in 2016.

Top Players, who can shine for Saudi Arabia in Soccer World cup 2018

Nawaf Al Abed was calm and controlled throughout the qualifiers, and he scored five goals at crucial times.

Fahad Al Muwallad is one the most promising prospect from Saudi Arabia. He scored four goals in qualifiers & similar role is expected from him in World cup also.


Osama Hawsawi is a defense wall, therefore, to deceive him is really a difficult move for the opponent.


Nasser Al Shamrani had achieved the title of  “Asian Player of the Year” in 2014 but later on due to on ground & off ground behavior he got banned. Therefore, he might not be the part of Saudi’s playing XI.


Right-back Mohammed Al Burayk who is just 25 years old has a potential to perform in tough & tense situations.
